Lean on, trust in, and be confident in the Lord with all your heart and mind and do not rely on your own insight or understanding.  In all your ways know, recognize, and acknowledge Him, and He will direct and make straight and plain your paths.

Proverbs 3: 5-6

Today's Jesus Calling says "Strive to trust Me in more and more areas of your life.  Anything that tends to make you anxious is a growing opportunity.  Instead of running away from these challenges, embrace them, eager to gain all the blessings I have hidden in the difficulties.  If you believe that I am sovereign over every aspect of your life, it is possible to trust Me in all situations.  Don't waste energy regretting the way things are or thinking about what might have been.  Start at the present moment - accepting things exactly as they are - and search for My way in the midst of those circumstances."

Excerpt from Jesus Calling by Sarah Young

When I started my business in 2010, I did so because I LOVED to take pictures.  I wanted to create a business that would keep me at home raising our kids, but also capture memories for our family.  Along my journey of establishing my business I stopped pulling my camera out as much with my family because it was a "job".  I was reminded recently that these frozen in time memories that I am capturing for my clients are ones that I want of my own children!  Teaching my kids how to use my camera and being in front of the camera with them instead of always behind the camera is pretty cool too!

So the challenge is how to balance a job and a passion.  Photography is a passion first and a job second.  Being a mom to five and a photographer in the SF Bay Area is a blessing and a challenge.   And the answer to the challenge of balance is this: Lots and Lots of prayer.  Acceptance that there is no balance.   Some days the house work gets done, an amazing meal is cooked, and my house is clean.  Some days I blog, get clients prints ordered and edit lots and lots of images.  Somedays I have piles and piles of laundry.  BUT - everyday I want to capture our blessings and have my kids in front of my camera.

I hope that you enjoy my new series of Everyday Blessings.  I truly love being a Lifestyle Photographer, Family Photographer, Child Photographer and Newborn Photographer in the Sonoma Valley, Napa Valley, Marin, and the SF Bay Area.  Each day will capture new adventures, challenges, fun and excitement and simply life. Each day, my faith will carry me through tough situations, give me courage to grow and go big!  Look for the blessings and the miracles.  It is all about perspective and teaching my kids to find the good in all things, even tougher times.

"There are only two ways to live your life.  One is as though nothing is a miracle.  The other is as though everything is a miracle."

Albert Einstein

Enjoy The Journey.
